Black-crowned Night-Herons in Illinois

Black-crowned Night-Herons are found worldwide and throughout the United States. In Illinois, their populations have declined for various reasons and the species is now state endangered. Illinois Audubon Society is partnering with several entities to increase awareness about Black-crowned Night-Heron conservation in Illinois. On Tuesday, February 27, Mike Avara, Mike Ward, and Brad Semel presented over Zoom various aspects of Black-crowned Night-Heron biology. The questions for this quiz came from this presentation. A recording of their presentation, and the one from January by Henry Adams, can be found here: https://illinoisaudubon.org/bcnh-project-zoom-information/.
